Parent Mentor: A Resource for Families
The Department of Special Education and Psychological services is fortunate to continue to have Ms. Dawn Albanese as our Parent Mentor. In this role, she supports schools and families of students with disabilities. As we start a new school year, we want to provide you with an overview of her role, as well as the schedule for the Parent Mentor Presents series for the year. Please share this information with families of students with disabilities so that they are aware of the trainings and support offered by Ms. Albanese.
Who: Families of students receiving Special Education Services
What: 2026/2027 “Parent Mentors Present” Meeting Schedule and overview of the role of the Parent Mentor
When: Support is offered throughout the year and trainings are offered various dates as indicated on the meeting schedule, 10:00 –11:30 AM or 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Where: Parent Mentor Presents Series- In-Person registration link for 10:00 AM session, as well as the virtual registration link for 6:00 PM session will be provided on each monthly meeting flyer, which will be distributed several weeks prior to each scheduled meeting.
